INNOVATION

Use of innovative technology to extend the life of Li-ion batteries

4 STEPS

Our comprehensive approach for battery reuse

Our approach to battery reuse

Our approach to battery reuse at Cellcycle is a meticulous four-step process designed to analyse and gauge the suitability of our clients’ lithium-ion batteries for extended use. Firstly, we conduct a comprehensive assessment, evaluating the condition and performance of each battery. Next, our team employs cutting-edge diagnostics to scrutinise the internal components, ensuring they meet the requisite criteria for reuse. Subsequently, we implement specialised testing protocols to gauge the batteries’ capacity, allowing us to determine their residual life accurately.

Innovative and sustainable techniques

By leveraging our expertise and insights gained through collaboration with industry leaders, we provide tailored recommendations to our clients, outlining the potential for reuse and the associated benefits. This meticulous four-step approach underscores Cellcycle’s dedication to maximising the value of lithium-ion batteries through innovative and sustainable reuse practices.

Battery Grading System

Our battery grading system classifies used batteries by their State of Health (SOH) to ensure optimal reuse and sustainability in addition to original selection criteria. We use A grading system from Grade A, indicating near-new condition, to Grade D for those suited to less demanding roles, this system allows customers to choose the right battery for their needs with confidence in its performance and remaining lifespan.

GRADE A - > 90% SOH

Batteries with better than 90% SOH are likely suitable for their original application at a similar lifespan expected from new.

GRADE B- >80 -90% SOH

Batteries with more than 80% SOH are still suitable for their original application in most cases, however a shorter lifespan is to be expected.

GRADE C- > 70-80% SOH

Batteries with 70-80% SOH no longer suitable for their original application, but can be suitable for new lower drain applications.

GRADE D - > 50-70% SOH

Batteries between 50-70% SOH are no longer suitable for their original application but can be suitable for low drain applications.
