Manchester, UK – 07/05/2025 – The SER Group is proud to announce its appointment as an official service partner for Sungrow Power UK Ltd (Sungrow), marking a significant milestone in its mission to support the UK’s transition to a low-carbon economy through advanced battery lifecycle services.
Sungrow is a global leader in renewable energy solutions, specialising in solar inverters and energy storage systems. With over 740GW of installed capacity worldwide as of December 2024, and a footprint spanning more than 180 countries, Sungrow is recognized as the world’s No. 1 on PV inverter shipments (S&P Global Commodity Insights) and the world’s most bankable energy storage company (BloombergNEF). In the UK, Sungrow is accelerating the deployment of solar and storage technologies to support the Government’s national goals around energy security, decarbonisation, and Net Zero by 2050.
Under this new agreement, the SER Group becomes a strategic service partner to Sungrow, delivering a comprehensive suite of battery storage, logistics, and recycling solutions across the UK. These services are provided through the combined expertise of three SER Group divisions: SE Recycling (specialist IT and battery handling), Cellcycle (advanced battery recycling and recovery), and Cellstorage (secure storage and compliance solutions for lithium batteries).
“The UK energy market demands not only technological excellence but also high service standards across the entire battery lifecycle. By partnering with the SER Group, we are confident in our ability to meet these expectations and provide reliable, end-to-end support for our energy storage solutions. Together, we will help accelerate the UK’s energy transition through sustainable and future-ready services” comments Laura Sagha, Service Partner Manager from Sungrow Europe.
“We’re honoured to be working with Sungrow, a company that stands for innovation and excellence in renewable energy,” says Gary Mo, Managing Director of the SER Group. “This partnership reflects the growing need for integrated, compliant, and sustainable battery solutions as the UK moves toward full electrification and a cleaner energy system.”
The collaboration not only supports the seamless delivery and management of battery assets but also embeds circular economy principles into every stage of the battery lifecycle—from storage and distribution to responsible disposal and recycling.
Sungrow is playing a critical role in strengthening the UK’s clean energy infrastructure. With a number of major utility-scale energy storage and solar projects already delivered or underway across the country, the company is helping to stabilise the national grid, enable greater use of renewables, and accelerate the shift to a decentralised, low-carbon energy system.
The SER Group, with multiple specialist facilities across the UK, is uniquely positioned to support these ambitions. Its ability to manage the entire battery chain—from initial deployment to end-of-life recovery—makes it a natural partner for technology leaders like Sungrow who are committed to delivering lasting impact in the energy transition.
Working alongside trusted local partners ensures that Sungrow’s technologies are backed by reliable on-the-ground support and long-term sustainability.
